SME 1.71. At Home-Update: 

We are currently aware that there are a small group of parents across the county who are experiencing SuccessMaker at-home usage issues (i.e. installation problems/accessing courseware issues-especially reading courses/etc.).  The issues have been escalated to the Director of Product Support for Pearson.  Currently, Andre Daniels is working with the director and a group of LSTCs to work on troubleshooting the problems to see if concrete resolutions can be provided to parents, hopefully increasing usage success.

In the meantime, we appreciate your patience.  We recommend that parents who are using the software follow these steps for installation:

Access the parent website http://pearsoncommunity.com/gwinnett/

Follow the directions for creating login information (printable handout provided to schools for parents)

Login using the new parent login created by the parent

Access the installation video PRIOR to installing the software and watch video

Follow the installation directions carefully for SuccessMaker at-home (do not install content locally)

After installation, test accessing both math and reading courses

If installation is NOT successful, parents have 2 options:

1. Call the support line for parents 1.888.977.7100-option 2 then option 1 (this has not been discontinued yet)

2. Use the troubleshooting guide (printable handout provided to schools for parents)

If parents are not comfortable troubleshooting their computer via the guide provided, then please advise them to call the support line first for troubleshooting support

If installation/courseware access are NOT successful after these steps, the local school may then offer to have the parent return the kits, providing refunds, etc.

We have many parents who are using SuccessMaker successfully from home and hope that we can get our parents with issues resolved through this troubleshooting process.  Findings and resolutions will be communicated to schools along the way.  Thank you for your patience and support to parents on the frontlines!
