Our mission is to create a cohesive team of learners and leaders. We empower all students to achieve at their highest levels by taking ownership of their learning while engaging in rigorous instruction that sparks curiosity, imagination and ingenuity. All stakeholders build positive relationships within the larger school community through collaboration, communication and the celebration of student success. Dear Parents/Guardians, We cannot achieve our mission without your help and you demonstrated an amazing commitment to our mission during the 2010 - 2011 school year. We thank you dearly for your support! We want to soar even higher next year. Please take time to read with your child and have him or her complete the reading log to the right. There are also some wonderful learning links to the left that your child can explore. We also suggest a journal for your child to write about all the great things he or she does over the summer. Talk to your child about the world and work on new vocabulary, ask questions, and challenge your child to demonstrate innovative thinking. For example, you and your child can read an article from one of the news links to the left and discuss a possible solution to a real world problem. Have a great summer!!! Writing Ideas for the Summer: - Have your child write about an amazing moment at the Zoo or the Water Park. - Write out a plan and advertisements for a lemonade stand and then help your child implement that plan. You can integrate math into this activity. - Write a play and then have a family night where it is performed. |
